Rules
1. For this game, journal entries will be written in your own journals, in the first person (i.e. I went to Hogsmeade today with Ron and Hermione). Role plays will be written in the main community, in the third person (i.e. Harry sat in the courtyard, contemplating the next task).
2. OOC (or out of character) conversations will be held in our OOC community found here.
3. No Mary/Gary Sue's. Everyone is equal in this game, even if you have a "main" character. No one is more special than anyone else, so please don't have your character act like it. Everyone has their faults.
4. Activeness is a must! Please be dedicated to your character and the RP if you decide to join. We ask that you update at least once a week, either with a journal entry or an RP. Please feel free to update as many times as you'd like.
5. Please only role play as your character. Don't take liberties with other people's characters. If they're out of town or are not able to role play for awhile and give you permission to role their character, then that's ok.
6. Major developments/changes need to be ok'ed by the mods. This is an alternate universe role play, but let's not get too crazy. Any deaths, suicides, pregnancies, etc. need to come through us first! You can reach us at the mod journal cc_mods or email (choices.and.chances@gmail.com)
7. No OC's (original characters), except if you would like to play a Durmstrang or Beauxbatons student. If you do apply for one of those, please take up a Hogwarts student as well! As for OC Hogwart students, there are plenty of Harry Potter characters, many who are not very developed. Apply for one of those and make it your own!
8. Right now, each player is only allowed three characters. If you'd like to take on more than three, talk to the mods. If we see that you're keeping up with all three pretty well, we'll probably allow you to take on more characters. But as we're starting a new game right now, we'd like to leave characters open to new people.
9. Slash is ok, but let's not get overboard.
10. There is no age limit to this role play, as you will be judged on your writing technique. But, this role play will be NC17. Please keep that in mind when you apply. Violence and sexuality will come into play for this game.
11. Please keep OOC drama out of the game! If you find you have a problem with another player, please talk to them and to the mods so we can work things out.
12. You need to make a separate journal for your character. Please no journals that are already connected to other games or that you use as your personal journal. Make sure the name is something recognizable to that particular character. Also, please make sure you friend everyone (after you are accepted into the community, there's a friend button located here, under friend lock), as well as the community and OOC community
13. Everyone can obviously read your journal entries, but if you would like to make a private entry to a particular person or group of people, please bold it in such a way so it's noticeable (i.e. [Private to Harry] ... [/Private])
14. When you choose a PB for your character, please make sure that it fits with the year that they're in. We would prefer that if you choose a character that's made an appearance in a Harry Potter movie, you keep that actor/actress for your PB. Of course, you're allowed to choose otherwise. But, please make sure the actor/actress at least looks close to the age they should be at their time in school.

This is an AU 4th year HP community. This means that it takes place during Harry's 4th school year, but we are changing the character story lines a bit, not following the book exactly. Everything that had happened during the summer before Harry's 4th year will still happen in this RP. We will begin with the train ride to Hogwarts to begin the school year. In the fourth year, the Tri-Wizard Tournament is taking place at Hogwarts, a very prestigious honor. Two other wizarding schools, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, come to visit Hogwarts to compete in the contest. And among all this, Lord Voldemort has grown stronger with time and is almost ready to make his reappearance into the wizarding world.
